My name is Callie and I’m an artist turned business owner.

See, 10 years ago, I hit rock bottom. I looked back at the past year and realized in that time I had consumed over 3,625 rx pills and had given over 2.5 liters of blood to diagnostics (that’s almost an entire human body of blood!). I was sick of being sick. So, I sought out the help of a naturopath. She educated me of the foods I was eating and put me on a plant-based diet. Within in two months of eating 100% plant based, I was off all prescription pills and with clean blood tests. What an award winning endocrinologist couldn’t fix, plants did.

I was on top of the world and I wanted to share my experience with my friends and family. The problem was, I was living in the midwest and everyone seemed to think eating plant based, meant trading in their makeup for a treehouse in the woods. And I was like, hello!? Have you seen me… I eat hot pink lipstick for breakfast. So I used my artist background to create a blog that was everything hippie was not – Bright colors, beautiful photography and mainstream platings. I created a large following and was blogging for well known blogs such as epicurious and gliving. People were buying the healthy freedom I was selling.

People began asking for food to purchase, so 4 years ago I created Rawxies. A raw, vegan and gluten-free snack food company. I let go of my loves to pursue another love – A love that has allowed me to grow into a person I never thought I’d be. While I lost a lot of my social presence, I gained so much more. I was naive as hell when I started Rawxies, but it’s the reason I’ve gotten to where I am today.

This blog is me getting back to my roots and to what started it all. It’s a honest a look into my life, to the things I love, and most importantly, the shit I eat πŸ˜‰
