Orange Dream Smoothie


The ultimate smoothie for newbies, children, or  anyone who needs a good pick-me-up + vitamin C boost. I make this smoothie at least once a week in the winter time and will often add a few handfuls of spinach to the mix. What most people don’t realize is that spinach is extremely neutral in flavor when blended – unlike kale or chard.

I can’t count the number of people I’ve met within the past couple of weeks that are fighting a cold. While I always say eating 100% plant-based doesn’t mean you won’t get sick, it does help strengthen the immune system which will a) lessen the likely hood of catching a cold and b) shorten the life span if you do happen to catch one. Nature’s medicine people, Nature’s medicine. 

Moreover, when you live in the midwest, you must learn to eat produce that is in season. If you try to eat out of season, you will set yourself up for failure. Costco has 5,000 lbs of beautiful oranges right now ready for you to purchase, they do not however, have 5,000 lbs of strawberries. I want to shake every human on the planet that has every bitched about the difficulty of getting produce in the Midwest during the cold winter months… True, our selection is different than that of the coast, but so is our climate. Take your damn lemons, and make some lemonade!! 

Orange Dream Smoothie 

  • 2 oranges (peeled)
  • 1 scoop of vanilla pea protein
  • 2 C almond/coconut milk (unsweetened)
  • 2 packets of stevia
  • pink of ground vanilla
  • ice

Place all ingredients in a Blender and blend on high – Enjoy!
